We are graduating from law school in less than two weeks! But, instead of studying, I've decided to do a few DIY projects. Why? Well, the end of the school year means multiple banquets. (You know, you've seen Shayne's photos) For on of these banquet, I wore a red sheath dress with Shayne's white statement necklace. It's been on the blog multiple times and I consider it one of her signature pieces. Unfortunately, since two of the banquests I attended were with Shayne, I couldn't borrow her necklace for all of them. In an attempt to find my own signature statement necklace, I ended up in Michaels attempting to make my own.
First, I bought some gold wire and connecting rings.
Next, I cut the wire into small, straight pieces, in order to thread them through the beads.
After you thread the wire through the rock, take a pair of needle-nosed pliers (the thinner the better) and curl the ends of the wire to form hooks.
Then, connect the linked beads.
I think I put too many connecting pieces between each bead, which makes the necklace droop more than I would like. But, the best thing about making my own necklace is that I can change it whatever I want.
What do you think?
xoxo
