Guest Post: Inspire to Perspire

For Christmas, I asked my parents for personal training sessions at the gym. It’s the adult equivalent of a pony (you’re never going to buy it for yourself). I could look up exercises that would help me tone, lose weight, run a triathlon, dig ditches, etc. So, I don’t actually need a trainer. But I wanted a trainer to make sure that I got up in the morning and actually went to the gym. Seriously. Between having to wake up early, figuring out what to eat, getting home in time to shower, blow dry, do my make-up, and get to class, there is every incentive not to go to the gym. Enter fashionable gym wear!

Luckily, workout gear has gone from this...

...to clothing that I actually want to wear out because it is so adorable. When I look cute going to the gym, I work harder. Unfortunately, for some reason, gym clothes are kind of expensive. It seems counterintuitive to spend a lot of money on clothes that you are purposefully buying in order to sweat in. I will never understand why a sports bra, which is half the fabric of most clothing, costs upwards of $50 (I’m looking at you Victoria’s Secret!)

Below is workout attire inspiration I found for when you're to head to the gym. In all fairness, a lot of these items are much more expensive than Shayne Renee would normally put on here... but that's the benefit of being a guest blogger!

What do you wear to the gym?

Omigod, I MISS Jazzercise! I might have to ask my mom if she still has a tape - that would be such a fun party idea! And yes, I totally agree - exercise clothing is SO expensive. I have the rattiest work-out clothes ever. You're making me think I might need to upgrade...
